Tim Burton Says He's Directing 'Beetlejuice 2' and Winona Ryder Will Be in It

December 16, 2014

Thanks to Birdman, Michael Keaton is back in the spotlight and, for the first time in his career, has a real shot at taking home an Academy Award. Naturally, then, what everyone wants to know is how quickly we can get the guy back in a white fright wig.

So, when recently sitting down with Tim Burton, MTV asked what the status is on the director's long talked-about follow-up to Beetlejuice. Burton responded that the script is "pretty good" right now, but added that he's waiting until after Keaton finishes his hectic awards season before pushing forward with it. More interestingly, though, Burton assured everyone that he will be returning to direct the sequel, and he confirmed that Winona Ryder will also be back in the role of Lydia. At last, somewhere besides Facebook to catch up on that weird goth girl who almost married an old guy.
