Mia Wasikowska Finds New Excuse To Wear Fancy Old Dress in 'Madame Bovary' Trailer

Jane Eyre star Mia Wasikowska is back in some fancy dresses to once again spare us from actually having to read mid-18th century literature. She now stars in the title role of Madame Bovary, Cold Souls director Sophie Barthes' elegantly shot re-telling of Gustave Flaubert's classic story. Like in the novel, the film sees Wasikowska's Bovary marry a man in order to escape the tedium of country life. Still finding herself bored in her new setting, she turns to extramarital affairs and extravagant purchases that place her deeply in debt--eventually contributing to her suicide and five minutes of her husband's stand-up set about how women be cheatin' and spendin'.
