Richard Linklater Finds Next Project, Wonders Where Bernadette Went

February 26, 2015

Realizing he does not have another 12 years of footage documenting the human maturation process, Boyhood director Richard Linklater has moved on to something else altogether. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Linklater is in talks with Annapurna Pictures to direct an adaptation of Where'd You Go, Bernadette, Maria Semple's 2012 comic novel about an agoraphobic architect and mother that goes missing. Should negotiations work out, it is expected that Linklater will definitely not win an Academy Award for this. I mean, if you can spend a dozen years shooting one of the most ambitious film undertakings ever and not get one, this sure isn't going to do it.
