Like a turn-of-the-century People magazine, Paramount Pictures and Bad Robot are going to give us a look at the rugged side of Thomas Edison. The Wrap reports that the companies have put into development a biopic that, it's said, "will depict the legendary inventor as a rugged eccentric genius." As is the natural way for these things, already at The Weinstein Company there's another film about Edison in development--one about the inventor's AC/DC battle with George Westinghouse--while NBC has developed a procedural about Edison fighting crime with the NYPD. Surprisingly, there still isn't an Edison project in which the Wizard of Menlo Park is literally a wizard, though. Fox is really dropping the ball here.
