The Sculptor, Scott McCloud's graphic novel about a man making an artistic deal with Death, is getting its very obvious analogue in the author making a movie deal with Hollywood. According to The Hollywood Reporter, McCloud's first work of fiction in decades--he more famously has delved into comics theory--has been set up for adaptation at Sony with Scott Rudin producing. Just published earlier this month, the book sees an artist who makes a deal with Death to be able to sculpt as he always dreamed but with the catch that he'll die in 200 days; when he ends up falling in love in that time frame, it complicates the plan. The film's working title is Man, That Would Have Been a Way Better First Half of "Ghost".
