Superman Gets Dapper in Surprisingly Fun 'Man from U.N.C.L.E.' Trailer

February 12, 2015

Here's the trailer for The Man from U.N.C.L.E., the '60s spy film that began as a Steven Soderbergh-directed George Clooney vehicle and still somehow kind of seems like one despite neither being involved. Now Guy Ritchie directs, yet the action retains that fun, well-dressed-handsomes-affably-doing-a-job feel of an Ocean's. Man of Steel's Henry Cavill stars, yet that old-fashioned Clooney charm lingers like that musky smell you assume he has. The British Cavill has really found his "American as spoken while adjusting cuffs" accent. The Lone Ranger's Armie Hammer--himself having really found his "bad guy from a Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon accent--co-stars as the Russian agent Cavill is reluctantly paired with. All these elements combined in a two-and-a-half minute preview, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. would appear to be a film filled with adventure, style, humor, exotic locales, and impossibly good-looking people. Finally, a film based on an idealized OK Cupid profile.
