Directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord turned the picture book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs into a hugely entertaining film. They made an '80s series about undercover high school cops into a comedy far funnier than it had any right to be. They made a movie about Lego into one of the most widely, immediately beloved films in years. And last night, with the performance of The Lego Movie's "Everything Is Awesome", they yet again accomplished a film feat that would seem impossible: they made it enjoyable to be reminded of Val Kilmer's Batman.
As tweeted by Miller: "[Will Arnett] was wearing Val Kilmer's Batman suit from Batman Forever. Really. #EverythingIsAwesome #Oscars The Keaton Batman suit was too "delicate" from aging, so obv the next choice was Kilmer."
If you want to see the suit again in action, fake-jamming on guitar, have a look below for the full Oscars performance.
