We've Found Our New 'Uncle Buck'

March 4, 2015

While Sony and Marvel have yet to reveal if we'll finally see a person of color put on the Spider-Man suit, ABC has announced that they, meanwhile, are taking action to better reflect our modern nation's many shades of dads' brothers with the first black Uncle Buck. They've found the only way to make the short-lived 1990 Uncle Buck sitcom feel somehow even more dated.

According to THR, ABC's Uncle Buck comedy pilot will see actor-comedian Mike Epps take on the iconic costume (a cigar and some kind of hat) once worn by John Candy to play the title role--that of a hard-living, sleazy, immature slob forced to take care of his brother's children. Yet still a female Jamaican bobsled team coach eludes us.
