Disney To Make Real Boy of 'Pinocchio' for Real This Time

April 8, 2015

According to Deadline, Disney continues to have no plans at all to cool it with remaking their animated films as live-action. Now they're working on a live-action version of Pinocchio, hiring About a Boy and The Odd Life of Timothy Green writer Peter Hedges--who's starting to feel a little preoccupied with strange little boys showing up--to pen a script said to be only "loosely based on the original." But hopefully now with a more horrifically realistic transformation into a donkey.

In case you've forgotten, Disney already has live-action takes on The Jungle Book, Dumbo, Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, and Winnie-the-Pooh in the works as follow-ups to their live-action Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent, Cinderella and the oft-forgotten Sorcerer's Apprentice, which was of course based on the beloved cartoon Nicolas Cage.
