Famed Composer James Horner Dies at 61

Academy Award winner James Horner, composer on such films as Titanic and Apollo 13, has now himself fallen victim to a tragic but probably beautifully-scored travel accident. THR reports that Horner has died after a crash in an aircraft he was himself piloting north of Santa Barbara. The composer, known for often reworking classic compositions and his own prior work into new scores, also gave us the memorable music to Braveheart, Aliens, Avatar, Star Trek II and III, Glory, Field of Dreams, and many more. Horner was 61.
