The Goonies and Monster Squad actor Mary Ellen Trainor, the woman whose motherly nurturing virtually guaranteed you would go on a wild adventure with your childhood friends, has died at 62.

Lifelong friend and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has reportedly confirmed the news that Trainor died on the 20th of last month due to complications from pancreatic cancer. She added, "Mary and I have been close since our days together as college roommates, and she even provided the introduction to Steven Spielberg that jump-started my career. She was a great actress, warm friend and generous spirit."

Trainor got her start in film with a part in then-husband Robert Zemeckis's 1984 movie Romancing the Stone. Soon after, she would become a staple of some of what we now know are the most iconic films of the era, appearing in The Goonies, the entire Lethal Weapon series, Die Hard, Ghostbusters 2, Back to the Future II, and more. The only other to appear in all those classic films was the physical manifestation of your childhood, which has, sadly, also passed away.
