Ava DuVernay has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe of directors that walk away from Marvel movies due to creative approach differences. Over the weekend, the Selma director officially joined Patty Jenkins and Edgar Wright's team, explaining that though the rumors are true that she's been in talks to helm Black Panther, it's not going to happen after all.

"I'm not signing on to direct Black Panther," DuVernay told Essence. "I think I'll just say we had different ideas about what the story would be. Marvel has a certain way of doing things and I think they're fantastic and a lot of people love what they do. I loved that they reached out to me."

So there you have it. Directors you can rule out for Black Panther: Ava DuVernay and probably Pitof, the guy who made 2004's Catwoman.
