'Lawrence of Arabia' Star Omar Sharif Dies at 83

Omar Sharif, the dashing star of classics like Lawrence of Arabia, Doctor Zhivago, and Funny Girl, has died. The actor had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and reportedly suffered a heart attack today at a hospital in his home country of Egypt. Sharif was nominated for an Academy Award and won two Golden Globes for Lawrence of Arabia--Best Supporting Actor and Best New Star--and later won another Globe for the lead role in Zhivago. He was 83, and still really pulling off a mustache in ways Burt Reynolds surely resented.
