Though Werner Herzog already did a pretty good job of it with 1979's Nosferatu the Vampyre, the 1922 German Expressionist horror film Nosferatu is getting another remake. Deadline reports that Studio 8 has signed on The Witch director Robert Eggers, who won the directing prize at Sundance for that debut effort, to write and direct what's being called a "visceral adaptation" of F.W. Murnau's silent classic. Of course, the original was already just a rip-off of Dracula--so much so that it was taken to court by Bram Stoker's estate--so really this is just yet another Dracula movie, but with a grosser looking Count. The BDSM fan-fiction this vampire tale elicits is really gonna be something.
