'Room' Trailer Gives Us the Unbelievably Depressing Kimmy Schmidt

July 31, 2015

Not to be confused with The Room, Room DOES still involve a boy grossly mae a party to some unconscionable sex acts, but in this case, it's horrific for entirely different reasons. Based on the same-titled novel by Emma Donoghue and directed by Frank's Lenny Abrahamson, the film stars Brie Larson and young Jacob Tremblay as a mother and son that are confined to the small quarters of a shed, held captive by a man that makes nightly visits while the son is hidden away in a wardrobe. As you'll see in this teaser trailer alone, the pair do eventually make it out alive and to Brie's parents (Joan Allen and William H. Macy), but that would seem to hardly be a spoiler; there's a lot more to the drama here than just the "will they make it out to civilization?" tension. Like Cast Away, except utterly sickening.
