Another 'Nightmare on Elm Street' Reboot To Haunt Our Dream of That Not Happening Again

August 6, 2015

As is pretty much never a good idea, New Line is going to try to pull off this fedora thing again. According to the Tracking Board, the studio is moving forward on another Nightmare on Elm Street remake, hiring David Leslie Johnson--who was also just attached to the Dungeons & Dragons movie--to write a script re-imagining the horror franchise. This will be the second attempt at a reboot in just five years, following a 2010 remake that saw Jackie Earle Haley take over the Freddy Krueger role from Robert Englund. Like with most sad, uninteresting Freddy reinventions, it's expected that this one too will begin with, "Actually, I go by 'Fred' now..."
