The Celebrity Apprentice, the reality series that leaned heavily upon host Donald Trump's status as an extravagantly wealthy businessman and intolerable personality, will now go on without that. There are simply too many D-list celebrities in need of strong mentors to keep them out of dancing competitions.
"The Celebrity Apprentice ... will be back," NBC today announced, which is their cute way of revealing that the show is returning, now with Arnold Schwarzenegger replacing the departed Trump as the program's face. Apparently any outlandish celebrity-turned-politician that may well be an evil robot will do.
"I have always been a huge fan of The Celebrity Apprentice and the way it showcases the challenges and triumphs of business and teamwork," Schwarzenegger said in the statement. "I am thrilled to bring my experience to the boardroom and to continue to raise millions for charity. Let's get started!"
It's said the series will return to the air sometime in the 2016-17 season, and though it's not yet confirmed, of course Schwarzenegger is going to replace "you're fired" with fucking "hasta la vista," isn't he?
