As the man in charge of both our transforming robot and papal relations, Mark Wahlberg was on Saturday chosen to MC an event headlined by Pope Francis. There, the visiting pope was serenaded by a 14-year-old soprano, who performed a solo of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Pie Jesu." Also, the kid whispered to Wahlberg how he loved Ted, so Wahlberg took the opportunity to get an official Catholic pardon for that film as well as the rest of his more questionable catalogue.
"Holy Father, please forgive me," the actor and Wahlburger co-owner said. "I've always hoped that the good Lord has a sense of humor... when it comes and pertains to many of the movies that I've made." The crowd responded with laughter but Pope Francis gave only a weak smile, solemn in the knowledge Wahlberg is definitely going to Hell for The Happening.
