Speaking to the German outlet FilmFutter, Ridley Scott has revealed the depressing news that he'll most likely spend the remainder of his days making Prometheus sequels.
"The whole point [of the Prometheus series] is to explain the how and why of the creation of the Alien itself," the 77-year-old explained. The issue now, though, is that apparently the first Prometheus starts the story so early that Scott thinks it's going to take him as many as three additional films to finally get back to Alien with absolutely all of its mystique removed.
"It won't be in the next one," Scott said. "It will be in the one after this one, or maybe even a fourth film, before we get back into the Alien franchise." Only then can he finally move on to his next passion project prequel series, Matchstick Men: Origins.
