Just as Lifetime Original Movies have now become a series of '90s television dramatizations, theatrical feature films this weekend made the shift to becoming Lifetime Original Movies. And you know what? It turns out a lot of people are okay with that.
Topping the box office this weekend was The Perfect Guy, a film that followed in the idealized trail of Lifetime movies like The Perfect Husband, The Perfect Boyfriend, The Perfect Girlfriend, The Perfect Wife, The Perfect Marriage, The Perfect Neighbor, The Perfect Roommate, The Perfect Assistant, and The Perfect Student in revealing that, holy shit, THEY AREN'T SO PERFECT AFTER ALL.
Close behind, M. Night Shyamalan's The Visit took the second spot, signaling a return to form for the director. Also suggesting there's still life yet in the classic "grandparent horror" genre.
Here's your box office top five:
1. The Perfect Guy - $26.7 million
2. The Visit - $25.7 million
3. War Room - $7.4 million
4. A Walk in the Woods - $4.6 million
5. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation - $4.2 million
