As teased at the end of Mad Max: Fury Road, when Tom Hardy looks directly into the camera and says, "If you thought that was mad, wait until you see my further crazy adventures," writer-director George Miller isn't yet done with the world of Max Rockatansky. Miller has previously teased that he has some more stories worked out for the character, and now, speaking to Top Gear, he's confirmed that he's talking Warner Bros. about developing one of two Mad Max scripts that he already has prepared.
"[After Fury Road was delayed due to a rainy season] we had dug down deep into the backstory, not only of the characters, but of every vehicle. How the steering wheels became religious artifacts, and things like that," Miller explained.
"So we ended up with two scripts, without really trying. We're talking to the studio about it as we speak, but which one of the two stories will happen next, I'm not so sure."
I wish I could say I was equally excited for whichever script Warner Bros. and Miller move forward with, but man, I have GOT to see that movie about steering wheels!
