With new Star Wars films scheduled to hit cinemas this year, next year, the year after, and every year after that, until every last dork is dead, you may think that Star Wars has hit its saturation point in theaters. You would think wrong, though, because Alamo Drafthouse has just figured out a way to shove a bit more in there: by just making the entire theater a Star War.
The cinema chain has just opened their latest location in Omaha, and as you can see in these photos, it takes audiences to a galaxy far, far away from the splendors of Nebraska. Its Star Wars-themed lobby includes such amenities as a hanging Death Star with Christmas light laser, Imperial ship-style lighting panels and signage, and a model of the Emperor's chair that will at last let people spread bedbugs via the Emperor's chair.
"The idea behind the lobby is that we wanted to construct and install a lobby theme that would make us unique in our Omaha market as well as the midwest," the Alamo's Omaha team explained to Entertainment Weekly. "We also wanted a theme that was built around an iconic film and to completely own that theme to immerse our guests in the experience. That is when Star Wars came into the picture and it just so happened that we timed it out just right with the announcement of the huge plans for a new Star Wars legacy starting this December. It is a permanent installation and will be thee destination to see all of the new Star Wars films."
I can't wait to see what the shitters look like! Seriously, though.
