Weekend Box Office: Audiences Welcome Krampus to Christmas Table

December 7, 2015

Well, for the third weekend straight, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 topped the box office, re-establishing Donald Sutherland as the biggest movie star on Earth. But since we already knew that, the bigger box office story this weekend was Krampus. Michael Dougherty's holiday horror fell just $2.6 million short of catching The Hunger Games, and since its budget was only a reported $15 million, its $16 million debut has already set it on track to become the season's sleeper hit. Another weekend like this, and the film might even get some Christian groups protesting it. It's a Christmas miracle!

Here's your top five:

1. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 - $18.6 million

2. Krampus - $16 million

3. Creed - $15.54 million

4. The Good Dinosaur - $15.51 million

5. Spectre - $5.4 million
