Nat Faxon, Jim Rash Making Middle-Aged, Deserted Mall Slasher Movie

At last doing something about the slasher genre's deep-seated ageism over who gets stabbed to death, Academy Award-winning screenwriters and The Way, Way Back directors Nat Faxon and Jim Rash are going to make a slasher movie about 40-somethings. According to Deadline, the duo has sold a pitch to 20th Century Fox for Dead Mall, a horror-comedy that will see a group of middle-aged men and women replacing the usual teenage victims. As the title's double entendre implies, the setting is one of the many defunct malls that has been left vacant and abandoned. Guys, THE PHONE CALL IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE SPENCER'S GIFTS. And it was made from a hilarious novelty phone!
