NBC Will Now Needlessly Do Another 'Hairspray' Remake

With live musicals like The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, and The Wiz proving wildly successful by NBC standards, the network is once again going live--and now somehow campier than ever before. NBC has just announced that their latest live show will be a re-staging of Hairspray, the 1988 John Waters film that was already remade into a Broadway show and a 2007 movie. It's said the network "would be open to having John Travolta reprise his role" from the remake. Unsettling fat suit is in your court, Barbarino.
