The director of Selma is attached to lighten up a bit with an adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time, the 1962 young-adult novel that I definitely read in full and did not just lie about reading to get the Pizza Hut Book It! reward for a free, one-topping Personal Pan Pizza. According to Deadline, Ava DuVernay has signed on to direct Disney's fantasy film, which will, of course, focus on the mean green face in the orb, the fabulous Greek statue centaur with the rainbow wing arms, mountains, and, naturally, that wrinkle. That wrinkle in time.

Notably, the much in-demand DuVernay also has DreamWorks' Lupita Nyong'o sci-fi film, Intelligent Life, on her plate, and it's not clear which she'll go at first. It's like having multiple Personal Pan Pizzas on your plate, because you kept lying about reading books--such as Madeleine L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time. Whichever she chooses, just let Pizza Hut know: I regret nothing. I'll just watch the movie now, you idiots.
