CBS's re-imagining of Training Day is going to imagine that maybe Bill Paxton would be good in the Denzel Washington role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has set Paxton to star in their series adaptation of the 2001 film that saw Washington win an Oscar as a morally dubious detective showing the ropes to rookie Ethan Hawke. CBS is said to be racially swapping the parts, such that now Paxton will be the seasoned, corrupt cop schooling a not yet cast "idealistic young African-American police officer." It's just as I've always said: "You know who would be perfect as a 47-year-old Denzel? A 60-year-old Paxton."
