Tom Hardy Takes His Intensity to TV with FX's 'Taboo' Trailer

From Ridley Scott, Tom Hardy, and his Locke writer-director Steven Knight, here's a first look at Taboo, an eight-episode period drama heading to FX and the BBC. Set in 1824, the series sees Hardy playing a man away in Africa, thought dead, who returns to London to inherit his father's shipping empire and make a lot of hushed, menacing statements. Hardy reportedly came up with the story alongside his father, Chips, who will also serve as a consulting producer. Meanwhile, my father and I managed to stretch a phone conversation to almost seven minutes last week, and I chalked that up as a victory.
