As bloated as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice already is, it was, unbelievably, almost even more grossly distended with comic book heroes and villains. That's the word from director Zack Snyder himself, who just revealed that he nearly tossed a couple more very notable characters in there.
"The Joker and The Riddler both came close to being in this movie," Snyder told Collider. "We talked about the possibility of putting them in. [Screenwriter] Chris Terrio and I talked about it a lot and felt that their mythological presence is felt in the movie and that's cool, but I didn't want to get my eye too far off the ball because I needed to spend the time, frankly, with Batman and Superman to understand the conflict."
And so we were denied the chance to finally see Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, three of Earth's most powerful heroes, unite to take down a brainteaser-loving man in a question mark-covered suit.
