'X-Men' Spinoff 'Gambit' Won't Be Coming Out This Year Anymore

Well, looks like Channing Tatum has got quite a bit longer to work on that Cajun accent he's already been practicing for two years. THR reports that the X-Men spinoff Gambit, long set to star Tatum as the card-tossing hero, has been pushed back to allow Magic Mike series writer Reid Carolin more time to re-write the script. Though scheduled for an October release, the Doug Liman-directed film will now not even be shooting by then; it's said Gambit will only start production at the end of the year. Given the delay, Liman is now going to first direct The Wall, an Amazon Studios film about snipers that probably don't even angrily heave playing cards at each other.
