Delving somehow even further into the world of prominently tattooed criminals, Jared Leto is going to play a would-be Yakuza. He's reportedly set to star in The Outsider, a just post-WWII film to be directed by Land of Mine's Martin Zandvliet. Leto will play an imprisoned American soldier who, released with the help of his Yakuza cellmate, attempts to "earn their respect and repay his debt while navigating the dangerous criminal underworld." Sadly, unbeknownst to him, the only way to earn the respect of the Japanese Yakuza is assumedly to hack off the samurai man-bun of some a-hole like Jared Leto. Production begins this fall.
