Weekend Box Office: Another Generation Learns They Can Get Away with Not Actually Reading 'Jungle Book'

In what's either good or terrible news for the Jungle Book adaptation Warner Bros. has planned for 2018, the Jungle Book adaptation Disney just gave us ended up doing really well. Outperforming expectations, the film that we for some reason did not title The Jungle Movie became the third $100 million opening of the year and lagged behind only Furious 7 for best April debut of all time. Yet again, a child raised by animals turns out wildly more successful than any of us.

Here's your weekend box office:

1. The Jungle Book - $103.6 million

2. Barbershop: The Next Cut - $20.2 million

3. The Boss - $10.2 million

4. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - $9 million

5. Zootopia - $8.2 million
