After doing some writing on Ant-Man, The Big Short's Adam McKay is heading back to the world of comic book superheroes dubbed "irredeemable." According to Deadline, 20th Century Fox has acquired the comic series Irredeemable for McKay to direct instead of doing the Step Brothers sequel we all wish he'd make. Though McKay has always written his own scripts, for some reason Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters' Tommy Wirkola will write the screenplay, which sees a superhero group forced to team with a supervillain to stop a powerful one of their own who has gone murderous. At last, we'll see the dark story of a Superman-like hero who willfully kills and fights his peers and... oh... right.
