Abolitionist, humanitarian, and American hero Harriet Tubman is soon receiving one of the biggest honors the United States can offer: a potentially awards-worthy biopic. Deadline reports that prolific television director Seith Mann (Homeland, Nurse Jackie) will direct a feature film about Tubman to be written by Remember the Titans screenwriter and Ali storywriter Gregory Allen Howard. Production on the film, titled Harriet, is expected to begin early next year.
While Tubman is scheduled to replace Andrew Jackson on the front of the $20 bill, you know how it is with paperbacks turned movies. They're just going to replace her with the movie poster once the film comes out.
