Jon Stewart May Return to TV Before Our Nightmarish Election

Though somehow silent through even the crunch of a crispy tortilla and a bold declaration of love for Hispanics, Jon Stewart may yet bring his comically dissenting voice to this, our grossest of election years. The former Daily Show host has a four-year deal set up at HBO, and in an interview on Thursday, the network's CEO, Richard Plepler, expressed his desire to get Stewart on TV again before the November vote. Though it's not clear what shape Stewart's presence would take, Plepler said he's "hopeful" that something will come together by the fall. All we know for certain is that it's going to be really disappointing if Stewart ends up making a serious drama that doesn't even touch on how Donald Trump has funny hair.
