Netflix has ordered its latest Jenji Kohan series about a bunch of eccentric, penned up, uniformed women. The company today announced that they've picked up G.L.O.W., a professional wrestling-based comedy Orange Is the New Black creator Kohan will executive produce. Nurse Jackie writer-producers Carly Mensch and Liz Flahive co-created the show, which is based on "Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling," an '80s professional wrestling outfit that for some reason involved a lot of rapping from ethnic caricatures (see below). This fictionalized story will focus on an out-of-work actress that takes a job on G.L.O.W. as a last-ditch effort to be some sort of star. No actors are yet attached, so we can only pray that Gremlina, Babe the Farmer's Daughter, Zelda the Brain, and Sara and Mabel (The Hicks) are respectfully cast.
