There's a sequel to 'Train to Busan' and here's the trailer

April 7, 2020

Peninsula is allegedly the sequel to Train to Busan, but I'm pretty sure they just misspelled The Fast and the Furious because while Train to Busan wasn't exactly a slow burn, it also wasn't whatever this appears to be. I half expected Vin Diesel to pull up at the end in a wifebeater and grumble something about family before flooring the gas and firing a bazooka.

The red band trailer for Takashi Miike's adaptation of 'Blade of the Immortal'

August 31, 2017

The movie has already been released in Japan and is getting pretty good reviews (currently 67% on Rotten Tomatoes and 7.7 on IMDB), but if you're living in the US this is our first look at Takashi Miike's film adaptation of the Blade of the Immortal manga. The official synopsis:

Samurai Manji has taken a lot of lives, both innocent and guilty, and now lives life in feudal Japan as a criminal. After being cursed with immortality until he kills enough evil men, Manji meets a young girl who enlists him to be her body-guard. Swearing loyalty, protection and vengeance against the group of sword fighters who slaughtered her family, the unlikely duo set on a remarkable quest to make right against those who did them wrong.

Blah blah blah. It's about samurais and Takashi Miike's directing it. That's all you really need to know. If I had to guess, I'd say the majority of their budget went to fake blood.

Super Troopers 2 has a teaser

August 28, 2017

In case you weren't sure Super Troopers 2 was a sequel to Super Troopers, they managed to cram in as many references and throwbacks to the original as is humanly possible into a one minute teaser. All that's missing is a scene of them chugging maple syrup as they announce the movie comes out on April 20. That's 4.20 by the way. Get it? Because weed? Because Super Troopers?

Deleted Sabretooth scene from 'Logan'

August 16, 2017

Here's a deleted scene from Logan featuring Logan talking about Sabretooth. I guess they figured they could save a bunch of money by not having to actually cast Sabretooth and only showing him as an action figure. Well played, Hollywood studio. Well played.

The first trailer for 'mother!' feels appropirately unnerving

August 8, 2017

Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem seem like an incredibly mismatched couple, but get past that and we've got ourselves an appropriately unsettling Darren Aronofsky trailer. It's still unclear what we're actually dealing with here, but Ed Harris has really seemed to embrace being typecast as the old mysterious creepy guy who shows up and nobody really knows what's up with him but his face is really old and creepy so it's probably nothing good.

Ryan Reynolds tweeted the first image of Josh Brolin as Cable in Deadpool 2

August 8, 2017

Ryan Reynolds tweeted out the first image of Josh Brolin as Cable from the upcoming Deadpool sequel. And then shortly after, Josh Brolin posted the full-body shot on his Instagram.

And for reference, here's how he appears in comic form as drawn by his creator Rob Liefeld:

So, all in all, we've three pretty ridiculous looking pictures of a grey-haired guy with a robot arm here.

'mother!' teaser trailer

August 2, 2017

This is the first teaser for Darren Aronofsky's new film mother!. All the official marketing and press stuff seems to be sticking with this lowercase exclamation mark way of writing mother!, so I guess that's the preferred horrible formatting? Apparently Mother just wasn't weird enough for an Aronofsky film. There's not too much to talk about here, since it's only thirty seconds of confusing imagery and voiceover, but it definitely feels like a Darren Aronofsky movie. The full trailer comes out on the 8th, and the film hits theaters on September 15.
